The Chinz Chambers

The Arsenal Block Chinz Chamber. Designed by R. Kuzmin (1850s). Water-colour by E. Hau, 1878 THE CHINTZ CHAMBERS in the Arsenal Block spelt gay colour and cosiness. The walls and the furniture were upholstered with British chintz. The drapery treated with wax allowed damp cleaning. The bright floral ornament gladdened the eye.
